The Other Side
It has been quite a month for the Paul Phillips' family. My husband, Paul, had complications since his kidney transplant and was taken back in for another surgery. Our daughter, Rachel, was thrilled to tell us she and her husband were expecting our first grandchild. A few weeks later, we were devastated to learn that she had an ectopic pregnancy. She is still in the process of getting on the "other" side of this traumatic experience.
Speaking of "other" sides........ I was thinking today about how Jesus' disciples had fished all night, but they hadn't caught anything. Jesus told his disciples to cast their nets on the "other" side of the boat. They reluctantly obeyed and their nets were full of fish.
One day we will all be on the "other" side of trials and difficulties. No more kidney disease there. No brokenhearted mothers with empty arms from losing a child.
We're just pilgrims this side of Heaven, but on the "other" side eye has not seen nor ear heard the things God has in store for those who love Him.
Hang in there, friends. We're a day closer to Home.
Hope to visit with you for a million years or so on the "other" side,
Dixie
